My name is Makayla Hendricks. I go to Alta High School. Music has always been a big part of my life. I can hardly remember a day with out it. If I'm not playing it, I'm listening to it, or singing at the top of my lungs in my car. I'm a photographer and enjoy seeing the world from out of my lens. I'm absolutely obsessed with all things Disney and anything to do with the ocean. My favorite sport is lacrosse which I've played for three years, two of which I've played as goalie. But now, instead of defending the net, I'm defending the family. I joined FCCLA in Tiny Town Wyoming as an 8th grader as an excuse to spend a few days in a hotel with my best friends. Miraculously my friend and I won gold and qualified for nationals. We traveled to Orlando, Florida and there we learned what FCCLA was really about. We came home feeling empowered and excited to become more involved in FCCLA. My freshman year I was elected at my Junior high chapter president. Unfortunately my family moved that Christmas and we landed in Sandy, Utah. I missed the chance to compete at state by only weeks. Needless to say my excitement to get back into FCCLA as a sophomore. My first day at Alta I met the FCCLA advisor and talk of me running for state office started. A few short months later I'm here, with the honor of being Utah FCCLA State President.

My name is Kaitlyn Ferris. I am the Utah FCCLA 1st 2014-2015 year. I go to Delta High School and I have been involved in FCCLA since the 8th grade. also as Secretary. I am also involved in FFA, choir, school plays, and religious organizations. I love talking to people, eating plenty of scrumptious food, watching movies, and taking long walks on the beach (when I get the chance). FCCLA has helped me to become who I am today and I will always be grateful for that. I have gained countless leadership qualities and abilities, great memories, and lifelong friends from my experiences thus far. I have grown immensely in my self confidence and worth. Over all there is no way I would ever trade one second of any of my FCCLA adventure for anything in the world!

I have learned so much though this organization, and am continuing to gather skills for my college and adult future.
